BITU E is a compound of bitumen modified with elastomer additives. It is used for hot bonding of elastomere bitumen membranes. It is applied by pouring the hot compound under the bitumen membrane. The easily fusible polymeric sheeting on the membrane must be removed in this case. Usage of the compound has an average of 2 kg/m2. The compound is normally prepared in special cauldrons with a mixer and by indirect heating to a temperature of 190° C.
